The strip is dissected under a stereo microscope into individual grafts. Each graft can have one to four hair. The grafts are kept in saline solution to keep them in good health. This is an important part of the process as the direction of the hair to grow is determined in this phase.

Once the grafts are ready, they are inserted into incisions. This process takes time and each graft is individually inserted. The finer follicles are placed on the front while the grafts with multiple hair are placed in the mid-section of the scalp to build volume.

The grafted hair fall off after a few weeks due to naturally shedding process and start to regrow in about three months’ time. They usually take a year to reach full length.
